Aluminum properties

Properties of Aluminum 7075

7075 Aluminum - An alloy with zinc, magnesium, copper, and chromium. Poor formability, good machinability. Strength ranges from 32,000 to 76,000 psi. 7075 Aluminum is known as "aircraft-grade aluminum." Its primary alloying elements are zinc and copper, making it one of the highest-strength aluminum alloys available. In fact, its typical strength in the T6 temper state is higher than most medium-carbon steels. - Download

Properties of Aluminum 6061

Aluminum 6061 - An alloy containing 1.0% magnesium and 0.6% silicon. It has excellent formability, weldability, and corrosion resistance. It also offers exceptional machinability. With a strength range of 7,000 to 39,000 psi, Aluminum 6061 meets most required specifications and is the most widely used aluminum alloy. It is chosen for nearly all applications requiring its strength, along with its heat-treatable properties, ease of machining, and weldability. - Download

Properties of Aluminum 1050 and 1100

Aluminum 1050 and 1100 belong to the 1000 series, sharing similar properties such as softness and low strength. They are the purest commercially available aluminum alloys, containing 99.5% to 99.9% aluminum. They cannot be hardened by heat treatment but have excellent weldability and formability. Cold working is the most common method for shaping aluminum 1100 and 1050. - Download

Mechanical and Chemical Properties of Aluminum 5052

Aluminum alloy 5052 has strong corrosion resistance, especially in saltwater environments. It is sensitive to high temperatures ranging from 200 to 250°C (392 to 482°F) and may lose strength when affected by heat. However, at extremely low temperatures, the strength of this alloy is enhanced, making it an ideal choice for low-temperature environments. Aluminum 5052 is a non-heat-treatable alloy with very good corrosion resistance. Detailed specifications for aluminum 5052 will help better understand its applications. - Download

Properties of Aluminum 3003

Aluminum 3003 - An alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and moderate strength. It is non-heat treatable, and its strength can only be increased through cold working. Applications: Commonly used in chemical equipment, pipelines, and general sheet metal work. Aluminum 3003 is also used in cookware manufacturing, pressure vessels, rigid frames in construction, storage bins, ice trays, garage doors, awning bars, refrigerator panels, fuel tanks, heat exchangers, deep drawing and stretching parts, and storage tanks… - Download
